Phoebe/Phillip from Earning Those Tips is back for her own Beyond comic! It will premiere December 10th, after the 55th page of Fractured Stories Volume 1. This story will tell an alternate ending to ETT that almost we decided to do over what happened with Juliet.
“In this non-canon alternate ending, Juliet never comes to rescue Phoebe from Tiffany’s messed up double date. Instead, Phoebe must ‘come out’ to his best friend Ian. No I do not.
Considering that almost was the plotline that Sam and crew were going to go with in the original series, I’d say yes, Phillip would have at least wanted to try having sex with Ian. There’s enough chemistry between the two for that to develop into a relationship.

I think the only problem with the canon ending was that Julia and Phillip were completely okay with leaving Ian hanging at the dinner table, especially because Ian is Phillip’s best friend (a rotten thing to do even if it was to help Phillip escape from the bad situation he was in). This would of course cause the date to end badly. Tiffany would find out and expose Phillip’s secret to everyone (per her blackmail).
