some good writers keep it all too just not to use immediately. Have you seen some of the notes published from Tolkien’s horded ideas. Sure you clear it out of the way in the current story but it may spark a whole new story on its own in time.
For my own sake, I hope you don’t literally mean delete, because while I have cut scenes from stories, I technically still keep them. In a separate file. Full of deleted alt. lines and scenes. That will most likely never see the light of day in the final.
I’m just saying I hope I’m not even worse at writing that I thought.
