It’s actually kind of on-point for most transitions, from what I hear. Although the person has not truly died, several aspects in how they think and act have changed. The person that started transition is not coming back.

On Blake: For a guy that seems to have a pretty good grasp on reality and seems to make rational decisions, he sure has a terrible opinion of women in general. It would be nice to flesh him out with a woman (or his mother) being abusive or the like, because the two mindsets don’t work well together. Someone aware of the world and who seems relatively intelligent would recognize their own hypocrisy sooner rather that later… unless there was some strong emotion behind their anger/prejudice.
I think he just finds it hard to relate to women which is why he has one night stands only and because of this I would not be surprised if he was gay as he has no problem connecting to men emotionally , but that might be generalising
