if luke’s test is successful then his female persona lara might just have a career for herself as a full time e- gamer streamer . and if that happens look out world here comes the next big superstar.
I believe, posting yourself in a manner for profit, are to deceived for profit, it’s fraud, and if it goes over state lines, both the FCC and the FBI might become interested, especially if there is money involve, and I think this is where it’s heading.
Gender expression in “conflict” with assigned birth is not fraud. Men wearing women’s clothes, a wig, and makeup – and even using silli-gel in this SF world – is not fraud. Even if you get followers on social media…
Really? You think that’s where Sam will be taking this story? You seriously think that Favors and Followers is a legal case about fraud in disguise? Yeah, I’m gonna call BS on that. For one thing, as gs_phd already pointed out, what Luke is doing here is not fraud. It’s perfectly legal to make a profit off a person that doesn’t exist like Lara, especially online. Hundreds of people have Twitter and Twitch accounts where they claim to be a different person and no one is suing them for fraud. By that same logic, Oliver from Godmother should be sued… Read more »
Year ago in the 70’s, there was an article about this woman who ran a small automobile company, very good looking, where later on it turns out she was a he and got busted for fraud. As this was a long time ago and I just have vague memories of this, so take for what its worth.
A hoax is a distinct concept that involves deliberate deception without the intention of gain or of materially damaging or depriving a victim From Wikipedia
So on with the show.
He should consult with Eva’s tutorial.
my point exactly. start with “she sells seashells…”
does that actually work tho
It’s just a sample phrase for the learner to use before applying the techniques that aren’t mentioned onscreen
Lara there is 1 answer to your questions, Stop. Stop well you still can
Luke/Lara didn’t think about his/her webcam catching all the background in the room.
I totally nailed that he would try to stream as a girl to get more viewers.
On second thought I think it was someone else’s idea first.
I mean…I think pretty much everyone knew going in that Luke would dress up as a woman and stream as her. That was told to us before the story started and even the title gives that part away with the “Followers” portion.
Luke’s streaming as Lara already?! Also, why is it only just now that he thought of changing the voice that he’ll use? That’s, like, very important if the goal is to pretend to be another person..
Will Luke watch some more video tutorials to practice speaking in a girly voice? Or perhaps, he’ll use some kind of voice changer software, since he’s still experimenting by this point.
He didn’t need to sound like a girl just to send a picture to his friend.
He will if he wants this charade to continue
Yes, of course, but then Luke decided to stream as Lara, made an account, and almost turned on the stream before he realizes that maybe he needs to change his voice. That’s what I mean.
Based off the last few lines of dialogue on this page, Luke isn’t going to speak on stream while dressed up as Lara. At least not right now. That way he doesn’t have to speak in a girly voice or use some software to change his voice. None of that has to be adjusted if he only communicates through chat.
Wow, you got that right. Nice guess.
I agree that Luke still needs to learn to change his voice if he plans to continue this, though.
That camera angle would definitely violate Twitch’s terms of service. Hopefully Switch’s is lighter.
