It’s definitely been confirmed since like page 100 that Thad is NOT Cypher. During the last time Thad and Lara were together, Thad acted like that was the first time he met Lara. But Cypher had already been introduced by that point. If Thad were Cypher, he wouldn’t have acted like that during their first meeting in person.
Just because Thad is an asshole and Cypher is an asshole doesn’t mean that they’re the same person.
