Lindsey saying “we lied about the stones because we didn’t want you to worry” was entirely self-sabotaging, prompting more questions to be asked! Unfortunately, it’s a common issue with Asian households. As long as you live with your parents, even if you’re already an adult, you’re still at their mercy. No privacy whatsoever.
Moving out is also not so easy, due to lack of affordable housing options and below-than-minimum wage for entry-level jobs. Heck, even if you do move out, some are still expected to support your parents by sending money to them.
Seeing Courtney have this lack-of-privacy mindset, while a pretty wild one where they live, is nothing new to me.
