NO, NO, NO! That isn’t how bra fitting works! https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/beginners_guide Your band measurement is the measurement under the bust. Someone with a 32 band measurement is a 32 band size. Keeping the cup size the same and going down a band size reduces cup volume. Here’s a picture of two DD bras with 10 inches difference in the bands: http://b75.blox.pl/resource/DD_comparison2.jpg There’s actually the idea of “sister sizes”, where the same woman can go one band size down, and one cup size up, and the total volume is the same. (For instance, I can wear 38D, 36DD, or 34DDD sized bras;… Read more »

Just curious, Foxx, how exactly did you do the research on this topic for Chris? It’s far more information than I ever knew!

nope C size is not always medium. a girl with 38C is nearly flat chested, and a girl with 28C would have a large rack.

38C would be flat really? I know 28C is large!

38C is proportional to 34AA and 28C is proportional to 34H, yeah that’s H as in huge. In theory any ways usually such sizes are not available on store shelves.

If you know about sister sizes this is not the same principal, sister sizes fit on the same woman so there is no scaling.

Makes sense sister sizes fit the same, but proportions are different.

I think one of the facts is wrong… When you reduce your band size by two, you take your cup size up one interval. For instance, you might go from a 36 C to a 34 D.

Question being 32″ why does she wear a band size that is two inches bigger.

Places must vary; my research told me that it is the exact number in of your measurement below the breasts http://www.wikihow.com/Measure-Your-Bra-Size;
however this link
(http://www.realsimple.com/beauty-fashion/clothing/shopping-guide/how-to-measure-bra-size/determine-your-band-size) tells differently hence the confusion.

that varies by manufacturer along with cup size, at the end of the day size measurments are just a starting point. to get a comfortable bra for you you should be fitted and/or try nearby sizes till you feel comfortable.
