i agree this lab needs to be checked out as soon as you can. It might help find clues to all who have gone missing.
My thoughts are this useful bio-weapon was a biproduct, The reproductive aspect o the Glumine is too important for a species that lost all fertile females to not be the focus of the research given how it produces fertile females in all species it naturally targets. And the Cover up is self defense. The loss of the females was in a war against all other species.
THEORY: All of the colonies are in stasis at the research facility. Sorry, I’ve seen waaaay too many sci-fi films. This sort of plot is a classic one, usually with a ‘mad scientist’ responsible.
