These are the voyages of the starship Crossfire.
Better come take a look at this cliché. *ding*
Cinema Sins reference? Well played! LOL!
No, not really. That web series does a lot of harm and no good, and we don’t need more people taking that same nitpicky energy elsewhere, because the world needs less nitpickers. CS and the people trying to copy them take the fun out of everything for the rest of us. So let’s not encourage those who reference that terrible web series.
What harm does it do? It might not be actual critiques sometimes but the comedy is good. If someone saying something bad about something you like ruins it for you that’s isn’t their fault.
Please don’t reference that clickbait garbage.
This is the second time I have pointed out that you can’t complain about me referencing CinemaSins since Sam has in the past.
bro you got my full support!
While this comic has inspiration from Mass Effect, Halo, and Star Trek as stated by Sam on the beyond website, I’m not sure how many scenes from those franchises will be re-enacted here. Sam hasn’t even created parodies of these franchises in the main SF universe if any.
I wouldn’t expect any scenes to be reenacted at all. Influence is going to be much more about what kinds of things happen in this utterly alien society, and the themes therein.
To celebrate the start of this space sci-fi TG adventure, I made an opening crawl (Star Wars-style) of Crossfire, based on the comic description in the reveal announcement. Link to the crawl is below (best experienced with speakers on).

Woah, very cool!
My Star Wars superfan brain exploded watching this! So cool!!
Dang JD, that was awesome!
Cool, but you want to be careful copying a franchise, if someone from the Star wars franchise might see it, they could sue!
It was a text crawl website, its meant to be used for anything. Long as you’re not profiting off it, theres no grounds for a suit
Was using the music from it.
Part of the website. It falls under fair use so long as its not for commercial use
Rich don’t care on that unfortunately
That was very nice good job
I love it! I haven’t laughed that hard in a while!
I wished the timeline was the first page then the comic.
Considering how dense and extensive the timeline ended up being, since it covered nearly two millenniums worth of history, it wouldn’t have been possible to cover all of that in just one comic page. All of that history cannot be condensed to fit onto one page. And if it went longer than one page, then the audience would start to lose interest quickly.
It works better with the timeline being posted separately from the main comic. That way the comic can dive right into the action without setup. Starting page 1 with the timeline would be a bad start.
Nice work ?
In space, no one hear your scream.
welcome to our newest comic crossfire may this comic boldly go where no comic has gone before . i will enjoy reading it for as long as this story unfolds .
