Alternate Description: He’s barrel-rolling and about time too, And this time he’s flying through, He can fly real fast a warp-speed slip, With his missiles out, he’ll down a ship, He’ll make you flee when he airdrops the crew, But xenos beware ‘cause he’s bombing you!
Why does this one say “piloting / melee” when the last one didn’t include tanks in the preferred weapons category?
Wouldn’t a cybernetic arm improve accuracy with a firearm not decrease it?
It doesn’t make sense that only melee energy weapon can penetrate shields.
Because a tank isn’t really a weapon, it’s a vehicle. Including “piloting” in Eagle’s weapons category could imply that he rarely engages in combat since his primary job is to fly the ship. While Monkey might be both a mechanic and still regularly engages in combat, but not in his tank. No, I don’t think a cybernetic arm would necessary increase accuracy. Just like how actual soldiers get prosthetic limbs, they’re often not as good as their original limbs because they’re not used to the new weight or the way it moves. It makes all the sense to me that… Read more »
Since Undercover Agent and Two Sexy Errors (which both are not canon to the SF universe) had alternate transformation methods that weren’t magical and could be made to be irreversible if specific things are destroyed/deleted, I believe Crossfire will use a similar concept.
I’m not sure if Sam said that this comic has inspiration from Star Trek, Mass Effect, any other Sci-Fi franchise I can’t think of now, or a combination of the former two franchises mixed with anything else. He hasn’t confirmed anything about it to my knowledge. There is currently only one woman confirmed in the group.
Sam has mentioned on the other site that his major inspirations for the development and designs of Crossfire were Mass Effect and Halo, while the writer of Crossfire uses Star Trek for his inspiration.
Also, based off of the poster that shows all nine of the Crossfire crew, it looks like Angel is the only woman onboard. Everyone else appears to be a male of their particular species. Which is good, since that will lead to eight male-to-female transformations most likely.
Huh, same simulated and actual age this time. I’m guessing their species doesn’t need to go on stasis-sleep during those long-distance travels, unlike humans. Very interesting..
Wait a minute. Of course Eagle can’t sleep; he’s the damn pilot, lol. Does that imply that humans cannot be effective pilots for long-distance travel, then?
It more has to do with the lifespan of the species. Humans in this era live to be around 150 years, so they age much slower than irl. Eagle’s species is underdeveloped, so their lifespan is a short 70-ish years. The other aliens have much longer lifespans.
Based off of what we’ve been told so far, it is possible that autopilot for the Crossfire does not exist. That if the ship is flying, then it needs a pilot.
What does what we have been told so far lead you to believe that?
This comic takes place in the 40th century, I don’t believe for a second that a super advanced and expensive starship wouldn’t have a feature as basic as autopilot

the eagle has just landed on the starship crossfire .
Eagle may take a similar role to Jeff “Joker” Moreau since they are both the pilots of their respective groups.

Even if Eagle doesn’t engage in combat much, piloting a ship is not a weapon.
That makes sense in the 21st century, but this is the 40th century, medical technology would have progressed a LOT.
Fair point but it never said energy shielding, just shielding, which also includes armor.

So, a spicy Klingon?
Fortunately this species seems to actually make more sense than Klingons.
Agreed.

I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself. He got a raw deal.
