Why not? It’s entirely possible that Gavin could have had his license for over two years now. After all, he is 18 years old.

They’re both seniors in high school, so it’s quite likely that they got their licenses well over a year ago.

It’s easy to forget if you’re not paying attention, but the virus has been ravaging Cinder Isle for almost a whole year at this point.

This is an island with a gender changing virus, a forest full of ghosts, and some kind of goo monster the government kills on a regular basis just for it to comeback a few days later and him driving without a parent is the part of this story that you think is “No way”. LOL

I think Elaine knows what Zoey is doing with Gavin.
With Gavin having a car now, I wonder what kind of car he bought.
Even if they don’t realize it, this has all the makings of a date.
I guess Gavin doesn’t need his bicycle anymore.
Very excited for Top It Off tomorrow.

As Gavin and Zoey stay behind, something bad or dramatic will happen possibly.

He bought a car? Wow, hard work at the diner finally paid off for Gavin.

Also, rest in peace Kobe and his daughter. You’ll be missed..

I have a question. On pages 7 and 8 of this comic, a girl was asking out Zack and he turned her down, telling Gavin that she wasn’t asking him out and that she just wanted to get something to eat. So I’m wondering, was that implying that Zack wasn’t into girls before getting infected or was it just that Zack was a teenage boy and teenage boys are just oblivious to when a girl is interested in them. I’m leaning towards the latter, since teenage boys can really be that oblivious and dense when it comes to girls. In… Read more »

From page 68 & 262 – Zoey / Zack said that she / he use to have a ex girlfriend back then, so maybe that’s why he’s not going out with that girl from the beginning because he doesn’t want to be heartbroken a 2nd time.

I don’t know if that relationship ended with Zack being heartbroken, though maybe we’ll find out more about that relationship later in the comic, especially how it ended.

Also, forgot about those pages. Thanks for letting me know which pages to look for.

I don’t think the comic was trying to say that teenage boys are oblivious, just that THIS teenage boy is oblivious. Gavin was able to figure out that that girl was asking Zack out, so it’s definitely not trying to say “all teenagers are like this.” Like with everything in life, it is a individual-by-individual case – just because some people have similar traits, like obliviousness or selfishness, doesn’t mean everyone is like that. Zoey mentioned later on in the comic that she had a girlfriend a couple times when she was Zack, so this is definitely a case of… Read more »

Good point. Best not to generalize. But overall, yeah, I think you’re right.

Or in short, “Don’t think of a thick curved banana”, because most of the time a banana is just a banana.
Did I get that right?

I like panel 2 as proof when Zoey and Gavin will become more than friends

I won’t just drop it and also not everyone who asks for it, because if you already have your own better ending I don’t want to upset it.

So about this thing with the quickly increased arousal from man to woman infected, I now have an alternative ending in mind, which also has possible branches for further short stories.
