I feel sorry for her, having to live her worst memory over and over again.
Judging by the background of her memory, it seems to somewhere in the 1950’s to the early 1970’s.
Unfortunately, some things can’t be fixed; the only thing one can do is make peace with what happened and move on.

I have a hunge… and I think “Zoey” won’t like/be happy after hearing the bride’s wish:
the bride senses that Zoey has hidden feelings for Gavin, which she does not want or can’t accept. The “Bride” plans to “help” Zoey by taking over “her” body to live once again and have a second shot of marriage, but also taking over “Zoey’s” life, memories… everything!
I wonder if I am close with my feeling?!
Oh yeah… and even if Zoey says “no” or “sorry miss bride, but I can not furfill you wish” the “bride” will take over Zoey anyway… if she wants it or not… and noone will ever notice that Zoey is not zoey anymore…
But these ghosts have different abilities, only the Mistress can use possession

The “Bride” will find a way to her and Zoey’s “happyness”… like the “bride” says herself: “I’d rather live in the moment…” and then the sentence after “…Also I sense you have much conflict in your heart, young lady”… these two sentences tell give me the feeling as if the “bride” is about to say something like: “I might know a way that could make us both happy”… Like I said: just a feeling of mine… besides: it would make a lot of sense: a soul/spirit which is sad, grieving or wishing to LIVE once more… Read more »
Well, it was stated before that different ghosts have different abilities. For example, Harlequin can turn people fat, Mistress can possess people, Starlet can change people’s clothes, etc. For the Bride, her ability seems to be to warp reality around her.
I do hope that the ghost can help out with Zoey’s feelings though. She badly needs it right now..
*shruggs* you might be right but… I personally think that ANY ghost can and is able to possess people… especially if they want to… and who says that the ghosts have only ONE ability? call me “idiot” or “dumb ass”… I am just a guy who believes in the paranormal and because of that I am convinced that spirits, ghosts… can possess people, no matter if good or evil… how else could you explain “reincarnation”? Oh no, don’t call yourself that. I actually find discussions like these interesting. Yes, I believe that the ghosts have more than 1 ability. For example, both the Harlequin and the Mistress can read minds. Who’s to say that the other ghosts are not hiding other abilities as well?
We all learn something new every day. Don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s all cool..
Each ghost in this story has a special ability. The Ex has the ability to physically injure the living, the Harlequin can transform matter, and in this case the Mistress can possess other living creatures. Each ability is unique to that ghost.
In other words, the Mistress can possess others but no other ghost in the Underwood Forest can. But, the Mistress doesn’t have the ability to alter reality or matter, like the Bride or the Harlequin. This is Sam’s interpretation of ghosts.
No one is calling you those things so please calm down.
