I’m…conflicted on this one. Pros: -The episode was paced very well. -Animation was on point for SF standards. Cons: -The idea for this episode, while wholesome on paper, directly conflicts with the events of Awakening. More specifically, it retcons the part about Alistair having not ate for centuries after becoming a statue (unless something happens next episode where Alistair’s lunch gets interrupted). That’s also not to mention how this somewhat cheapens the moment where Alistair truly gets his body back in that series. 6/10. I see what the SF crew were trying to do here, but this would’ve worked much… Read more »
This episode does not retcon anything, since it’s set before Awakening. In Awakening, Alistair never said that he hasn’t eaten in centuries, just that he doesn’t know how to cook using modern cooking utensils and appliances. Even when Alistair got turned back into a human, it had been several months since he last ate, so of course food was still going to taste amazing to him. I also don’t see how this cheapens Alistair getting his body back in Awakening, since this is quite different from him getting a real body permanently in that series. Also, this is not a… Read more »
Since the statue is a crystal, it should have been better if they swapped bodies while Alistair was not floating.
On switching Cris could have lost control and crashed down…
Sorry for being a nitpicker…
I would have thought that he would have her gold mana mark, since he is now in her body, with her blood, instead of shaping his own body into a copy of her.
I thought since the bbeg in Makers Game tried this exact thing to get Chris’ powers, the bloodline would be tied to the body, not the soul
The soul definitely does make more sense, except for that pesky continuity thing.
The “FOOOOOD!” was jut so relatable
yeah it is
The female Alistair was kind of cute.
Jessica: Seriously, someone take this cake, my hand is BURNING.
Food is always a great way to celebrate. Especially with that cake for dessert!
Carrie Savage did well as Ashley and she’s great as Lisanna Strauss (Fairy Tail), Celica (Blazblue), Hai the villainess, & others
Ashley and Hai –
Ashley: Hai, you deserve to be punished by Jessica for your crimes and stole Mrs. Young’s promotion. What gives you the right to get away from anything thanks to your hypocrisy. If you really hate your job as Scarlett’s assistant, you’re free to quit and then work somewhere else. There’s plenty of options for business lady like yourself who’s recently become 20 years younger. Good luck job searching & enjoy your youth.
Did Carrie Savage replace Ashley Sahler either temporarily or permanently? I don’t think Sam has mentioned anything about why he chose to have Carrie Savage voice Ashley for this animation.
Yes, I think some VA are too busy voice work on other projects (anime, video games, cartoons, commercials, etc.)
Carrie Savage is wonderful as Ramona (Hard Bodies), Dawn (King’s Heirs), Estrella (Love For A Price), Raven (My Sister’s Sleepover), Skyler (Ashes To Ashes), Rebecca (Booby Trap), Abigail, Evelyn (Wedding Bells), and Aurora (Maiden’s Tale)
