I hope you all had a good Christmas yesterday. My family came over to visit and we had a good time exchanging presents, watching a good movie, and playing Cards Against Humanity. Oh, and there was plenty of spiral ham and baked goods to eat.
I got a few good presents this year, and my favorite was a Sapphire Fox statue given to me by my family. It wasn’t originally blue when they bought it (can you believe they make fox statues that aren’t blue?), so they painted it. It’s a very lovely gift that I’ve put in my living room. The little fox statue next to it was sent in the mail by a fan who goes by Lifeontheejs on the site.
Another unique gift I got this year was from my father. It was a Thomas the Tank Engine train set he bought for me 18 years ago, but never gave to me. He kept it hidden around all this time, for some reason, and gave it to me yesterday. I’ve always had a thing for trains, and have been thinking of starting a model train collection soon. I may not be playing with the Thomas the Tank Engine set, but it was a very sweet gift.
What was your favorite present(s) you received this year?
Didn’t know it when I got it, but the past week my favorite present is definitely the wool socks from my mother.
Gotta love the frozen tundra of Wisconsin.
I received a violin. It’seems about 50 years old and hasn’t been touched for 40. I’be never picked up one; I can play a few songs on it now.
Wonderful time with family and friends. Does not get any better than that!!!! Did get a few items but basically its only “stuff”. Family is what really matters.
My family hasn’t really done the whole Christmas gift-giving thing since my sister and I moved out for college (though we still celebrate one day of Hanukkah per year… yeah we’re weird that way). Instead, we all went and saw “Into the Woods” together on Christmas day. My sister and mother loved it, but unfortunately, I really didn’t like it.
Hopefully The Imitation Game will be better, which I’m going to see with my sister and aunt tomorrow.
I didn’t get any presents! How sad is that?
