Loving the story, but some of the dialogue on this page is a little clunky… the headline doesn’t sound like a *real* headline, “our PR guy…” basically everything the general says just feels forced from story and not how people actually talk.

True but Chernoblyl wasn’t a meltdown(that happened after the explosion) so far more radioactive material escaped into the land and atmosphere. Fukushima had an exclusion zone of about 12 miles and officials briefly thought of evacuating Tokyo but it was deemed unnecessary. The Kyshtym disaster in the Soviet Union was barely noticed in the west other than some vague reports of a nuclear disaster happening. About 60 villages where evacuated and erased from Russian maps not appearing again until the mid 1990’s. Elevated levels of radiation would be detected but I suppose the government could fake it.
