this is the same behavior of a procrastinator. Oliver is avoiding/distancing himself from his Oliver life as much as possible so he doesn’t have to process what happened between him and Brooke. The trauma of losing Brooke is probably greater than losing the relationship with Lorenzo so remaining as Caroline is an avoidance mechanism.
